Travis discovered his love for the outdoors through Boy Scouts, where he began backpacking and eventually earned the rank of Eagle Scout. His passion for adventure led him to begin instructing at local climbing gyms and working with several outdoor organizations. He later attended the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), where he expanded his skills and experience in a wide range of activities, including backpacking, climbing, kayaking, navigation, and surfing.

Travis holds multiple certifications, including Avalanche Safety, Wilderness First Responder, AMGA training, and several credentials from NOLS. He is also a certified Leave No Trace Master Educator.

His professional experience includes guiding trips and instructing for REI, leading adventures up Half Dome and throughout Yosemite National Park. Travis also worked at the San Jose State University Student Union, where he organized trips and led the Outdoor Adventures and Climbing Wall programs, helping students grow and learn in a supportive environment.

Travis is dedicated to outdoor education, creating inclusive spaces for learning, and encouraging students to safely push their boundaries.
